Applications of Irgacure 819 CAS 162881-26-7
Irgacure 819 is a high effective UV photoinitiator, which is used to initiate the UV polymerization of unsaturated prepolymer system. It has been widely used in coatings, inks, adhesives and other industries for their excellent properties. For example, Irgacure 819 have great absorption in the ultraviolet and visible regions, and can initiate curing more effectively than other photoinitiators for coatings containing pigments. Irgacure 819 hardly yellows after curing and long-term light radiation, so it can be used in occasions where yellowing requirements are stricter, such as white, light ink and paint. In addition, photoinitiator 819 have bleaching effect on light, which can penetrate the coating and help the thick film to be cured thoroughly.
IRGACURE 819 can be used in conjunction with other UV photoinitiators, such as IRGACURE 184 or IRGACURE 651. The combination of IRGACURE 819 and IRGACURE 651 is particularly suitable for curing polyester/styrene resin systems, such as glass fiber reinforced materials. It can also be used in outdoor varnish when used with light stabilizer. IRGACURE 819 can be used in conjunction with ultraviolet absorbents, such as TINUVIN 400, because of its absorption in the long wave band, so photoinitiator 819 can be used in UV curable coatings requiring weatherability.
IRGACURE 819 has been tested to be applied in printing ink and preimpregnation system on surface of wood, metal, plastic, paper and optical fiber.
